Source hierarchy
PermitProof prefers documented public APIs and official ArcGIS Feature Services. Browser automation is used only where the public portal permits it. Sources requiring CAPTCHA bypass, login circumvention, or rate-limit evasion are not automated.
Current automatic coverage
Pasadena searches the City of Pasadena's published Active Building Permits ArcGIS layer. Unincorporated Los Angeles County searches the County's published EPIC-LA Case History ArcGIS layer after jurisdiction enrichment. Both sources have stated coverage limits, so zero rows are sent to manual review rather than represented as proof that no permit exists.
Manual coverage
Monrovia, the City of Los Angeles, and jurisdictions without an approved automatic connector are routed to manual review. PermitProof does not automate a portal that lacks a verified permitted access method.
Coverage states
A jurisdiction can be automatic, manual review, or unsupported. A source outage is shown as unavailable, not as no permits found.
Demonstration mode
Mock records are always labeled: Demonstration data. Not retrieved from an official permit source. Mock records are never mixed with live records.
Core report disclaimer
Permit records are based on available public sources as of the search date. The absence of an online permit does not establish that work was not completed. PermitProof does not verify construction quality, code compliance, insurability, underwriting eligibility, or coverage.
Interpretations
Simplified descriptions are summaries for workflow convenience. The original government record controls.
